Peter M. Muller, Jr.
Born in Carmel, NY and raised in Homestead, FL, Mr. Muller received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Florida International University where he studied French Horn. Mr. Muller received his master's degree in conducting from Northern Illinois University where he served as the director of the All-University Band. His principal conducting teachers include: Dr. Clare McElfresh, Dr. Phillip Fink, and Dr. Ronnie Wooten. While at NIU, Mr. Muller was a contributing author to "Teaching Music through Performance in Jazz" Vol.1.
After graduating from FIU, he became Director of Bands at American Heritage School in Plantation, FL. Where he revived the Marching Band and Orchestra Program. Mr. Muller spent six years as the Music Director at Miami Springs Sr. High School, where he taught Band, Orchestra, Choir, Piano, Guitar, and AP Music Theory. During his time at MSSH, the marching band participated in the Bands of America Regional in Orlando, FL and was a 2-time State Finalist in the Florida Marching Band Coalition State Championships. Mr. Muller has served as the Head Band Director at Coldspring-Oakhurst High School, where he established high standards of performance for all of the performing ensembles.
He also served as Director of Bands at Hialeah Middle School, where his bands traveled throughout the United States performing at many Music Invitationals. Mr. Muller was also a member of the music teaching staff for The Magic Drum and Bugle Corps.
Mr. Muller came to Gruver in the summer of 2015 and now residing in Gruver, TX, Mr. Muller comes to Gruver with high expectations of continuing the high standards and excellence that the Gruver Greyhound Bands are known for.
